West Coast Swing Beginner courses start at the beginning of each month (except August). The Level 1 Foundation course is a 4-week course that covers the basics of West Coast Swing, including the 8 basics of West Coast Swing, basic handholds, how to keep time to music, the structure of the dance, and the roles of the leader and follower.
The courses are taught in friendly and welcoming groups, so you’ll quickly make new friends to practice with. No partner or previous experience is necessary. Flat or low-heeled, smooth-soled shoes are recommended.
Class start times vary at each location so do double check what time you should arrive.
There are classes being held for more experienced dancers before the level 1 class, you are welcome to arrive a little early to watch what you are aiming for.
EastonSwing’ Level 1 Foundation West Coast Swing course is comprised of 8 moves. In this introduction to WCS we will focus on the concept of connection to your partner and to the music.
If you can’t make it out on a weeknight then come along to one of our weekend Bootcamp or FastTrack workshops for Level 1 West Coast Swing dancers.
